This Black-bellied Whistling Duck was in the company of what appeared to be an adult female Mallard and her 10 young. It seemed to just want to "tag along" and was often seen trailing the young Mallards. Photos of the adult Mallard and 3 of the 10 young follow as well.
The following photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995 Digital Camera attached to a Leica APO Televid Spotting scope. All shots were taken on "Aperature" priority with the f/stop full open, resulting in 1/8 or 1/15 sec shutter speeds. The first two photos of the Whistling-Duck were cropped slightly from their original size to include only the bird of interest--no further manipulation was done.
